My Passion speech
The days are flying by in our speech class and it’s already time for the students to give their next speech. The next speech assigned to our class was the “Passion Speech.” In this speech, we are supposed to speak on an issue that we feel passionate for. Some people may talk on issues that are overseas, but I have chosen a topic that hits home in our culture. I chose the topic of how beauty is perceived and distorted in our culture.
I feel that people don’t see the truth through the advertisements we are bombarded with, day in and day out. So many of the advertisements nowadays show women AND men in a very unrealistic way. I just wish I could show people the way the human body has been changed and manipulated in order to sell a product. That is why I chose to do my speech on this topic and why I felt it was relevant enough to write about in this blog.
