Valentine’s Day
It’s that time of the year again, where everyone gets all mushy, and lovey dovey on each other. When we hear the phrase “Valentine’s Day” we think, roses, boxes of chocolates, and single awareness day. When really it should just be a day to remind one another that we should love each other even if we are not dating, or the person is on the other side of the world. When you Google “Valentine’s Day” you will find this, “Valentine’s Day was established honoring one or more early Christian martyrs named Valentinus… It is celebrated in countries around the world, mostly in the West, although it remains a working day in all of them.” Honestly, this holiday morphed into what it is today with the giving of flowers and cards in the 15th century.

As Christians we need to be conscientious that even if we do not have a significant other, we have Christ. He should be the one we really show our love to. He died for us, and that is the ULTIMATE scrifice of love! Along with Christ, think of all of those around you who love you and take care of you. It does not have to be a day you receive gifts of love, it should be a day we spread gifts of love. If we are only showing love to others on ONE day of the year, then something is also wrong. Live and love everyday like it is your last, and if tomorrow comes, then love again. God bless!
